Sometimes we get lucky and find ourselves in a situation that is beneficial for us in multiple ways. This is the state I'm currently existing in as a Media Services employee. The main reason why I'm writing this is that my legs have taken a turn for the worse and seem like they've regressed so far thus potentially completely wiping out 3 months of physical therapy. There have been a variety of forces that have put this in motion, however, it was my lack of care and forsight that essentially created this. Namely, walking and standing too much while not making any new physical therapy appointments out of laziness. Thus, this shit is fucking FRUSTRATING. While this physical state is occurring, I will also be working for media services this summer, partially doing classroom installations. This requires some sort of lifting. The knowledge of the imminent interaction between these two states has been a minor source of anxiety and worry during my physical decent. What if I tear my leg? What if my coworkers and boss think I'm lazy and good-for-nothing?
Luckily I explained the sharp pain and spasm that resulted from walking from media services to the library and then to Dana Commons. He could empathize, since he couldn't move his arm above a 20 degree angle for three years. He said that my health came first and that I could do most of the office work and do some of the parts of the installations which can be done in a chair.
I feel soo grateful right now to not have a crazy, douche for a boss and one that can understand. I'm also grateful to my other friends who have been sympathetic and helped my out in the past. THANKS TO YA"LL YOU RULE!
